Aston Villa On Tour - USA 1969

In the Summer of '69 Tommy Docherty's team were invited to the States by former Villan Phil Woosnam
to help him rejuvenate the NASL (North American Soccer League)
They took part in the 'International Cup' as well as two exhibition matches as part of the tour and the idea was that each of the British clubs would represent five different NASL clubs.
Villa
took on the guise of the Atlanta Chiefs, while Wolves (Kansas City
Spurs), West Ham (Baltimore Boys), Dundee United (Dallas Tornado) and
Kilmarnock (St Louis) also took part. Below are a random collection of images and press cutting from Villa's trip.
